Background
In July 2026, I completed an on-site address verification project in Birmingham through Freelancer.com.
The client needed someone to visit a residential property and check that the identifying information visible at the address matched the details they had been given; they also required a series of photographs showing the property and relevant identifiers, with GPS and timestamp information included.
Objectives
The purpose of the visit was to confirm whether the building name, unit number or other visible property information matched the client’s records.
I was asked to visit the address, check the available identifiers, take a series of clear photographs using a GPS camera and provide a short written summary of what I found.
My Contributions
Before travelling to Birmingham, I reviewed the instructions so I knew exactly what the client needed from the visit.
Once at the property, I checked the building and the visible identifying information and took photographs from a number of angles; this included wider shots to show the location and closer images of the relevant property details.
The photographs included GPS and timestamp information, giving the client additional evidence that they had been taken at the requested location; I then organised the photographs and submitted them through Freelancer.com with a short written confirmation of my findings.
Results
The visit was completed successfully and the client received the photographic evidence and written confirmation they had requested.
The submission provided clear evidence of the location, the relevant property identifiers and the GPS information required as part of the assignment; the project was accepted by the client and marked as complete on Freelancer.com.
Reflection
This was a straightforward project, but one where attention to detail mattered; it wasn’t simply a case of arriving at the address and taking a few photographs. The images needed to clearly show both the property and the information being verified, while also meeting the client’s requirements for GPS and timestamp evidence.
It was also a slightly different type of assignment from much of my usual remote work and a useful example of the broader research and verification work I can undertake when required.
